Fighting Instinct was a Christian rock band formed in 2004 out of Winston-Salem/Greensboro, North Carolina. The members were TJ Harris (vocalist/guitarist), Jason Weekly (bassist), Chris Burrow (drummer), and Derek Drye (guitarist). They released their first CD, ''Fighting Instinct'', in the summer of 2006. The first single off this album, "I Found Forever," was featured on both rock and Christian radio stations. "I Found Forever" rose to 31 on the active rock charts with virtually no touring. Without much of a fan base, the band's Christian single, "Back to You" soared to number 5 on the Christian CHR charts. "Back to You" and "Just to Please You" were only released to Christian radio stations. In October 2008, the band announced on their MySpace that they were releasing a 5 song EP, but also announced they were going to disband at the end of the year. Lead singer TJ Harris has moved on to front the Rock band Decyfer Down. Decyfer Down is currently working on their 3rd album. == Discography ==
Fighting Instinct has also recorded a cover of "Like It, Love It, Need It," by legendary Christian rock/pop group dc Talk, which appears on the compilation album ''Freaked! A Gotee Tribute to dc Talk's "Jesus Freak."''
